Hairdresser's salon, rue des Martyrs
We opted for a strong architectural language to design this salon that can be seen from the street through a huge bay window.
At the foot of Montmartre, in the rue des Martyrs, two shops have been added in an isolated building. The roof was demolished and the site excavated conserving the historic walls to create a unified volume for an atypical hairdressing salon.
The project revolves around the construction of a suspended mezzanine situated under a glass roof. The animation in the place opens a path where one experiences different sensations linked to the architecture; lying under the Parisian sky having one’s scalp massaged, having one's hair done in a space that transforms according to the number of visitors during the week, between a crack in the light and a suspended mass, enjoying the hammam and body care in cosy cabinets downstairs.
