Cultural Centre in Elbeuf
Artistic creation in the broadest sense can be understood as an open and complex stratagem in which there is an unceasing and reciprocal exchange between the different disciplines.
These facilities will show their vitality by giving way to partial transformation. This confers a capacity for enchantment and a poetic dimension on the architecture, facilitating the appropriation of spaces and places by people. We wished to re-examine the question of the exhibition space’s boundary as the possibility of a moving and porous border inserted into a hermetic and very constrained envelope. By ensuring the temporary opening of the exhibition space to the outside through the hall, the whole universe of the performing arts and artistic creation is made visible to the city. This decompartmentalization is perhaps in itself one of the means of gradually making the inhabitants aware of the centre’s different cultural practices.
