Regional Museum of Contemporary Art in Sérignan
The space that we have conceived is one that is distinguished from the rest of the museum through its content. It is an unusual place, where a collection of heterogeneous objects will be brought together. It is a space of curiosities, of illustrated anecdotes, of delirium and imaginations sometimes expressed with a child-like simplicity. The works of the graphic arts space invite the visitor to come closer.
Contemplation arises from the proximity to be created between the visitor and the drawings.
The exhibition staging must promote contemplation. Here there is a softness to be dealt with.
To match this comprehensive collection of singularities, we have designed display cases that can offer all the different ways to present drawings: a horizontal presentation in the drawers of various sizes, and inclined and vertical in the display cases of various thicknesses. All the exhibit media is designed to fade away so as not to distract the regard. Our aim is to lighten as much as possible the presence of the display cases in relation to the delicate appearance of the works. The lighting is of great help to us. We light the space through the works that are regularly highlighted by optic fibres. In this way, the drawings float in space like fireflies.
